Situated on top of a hillin the stunning Little Karoo, Le Petit Karoo Ranch welcomes you in a nature setting that will stay with you for a long time. Come and spend an unforgettable night in our bush tents. Each tented deck faces the magnificent Swartberg and has its own outdoor jacuzzi to enjoy privately under the starlit sky. We also have 2 family rooms with a queen sized bed and a bunk bed sleeps 4 in total. En-suite bathrooms with Jacuzzi. There is a big deck to enjoy the panoramic view and the breathtaking sunset. Breakfast and dinner are served on the deck on request. We also offer two double rooms with a queen bed and a single bed. Can sleep either 2 or 3 persons. 2 persons: R650 - En-suite bathroom with Jacuzzi. The deck is also available for you. There is a big communal room with TV. Breakfast and dinner can also be served there. We also have a bar facility. Don't forget to book for the KKNK. All rooms are R600! 4th of April to 11th of April! You can book dinner with us, South African cuisine, French style or use our braai area. You are also able to camp any time of the year, with showers, toilets and electrical points available for your convenience.

Bush Tents: Mounted on raised wooden decks...
We have3 beautiful bush tents with breathtaking views on the Swartberg Mountains. Each room has space for 2 and its own open air jacuzzi! There are coffee/tea facilities, plugs and in/outside lights, full bedding with electric blankets and a deck area for writing your postcards. Breakfast and dinner can be had on your deck or in the common area. Wi-Fi available.

Family rooms: Wonderful View...
We havetwo family rooms with full bedding and electric blankets. There is a queen sized bed and a bunk bed, sleeps four in total per room. There are plug points, kettle with coffee and tea amenities and an en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi. TV and Wi-Fi in rooms. Desk with chair for writing you postcards and letters.

Knowingthat sometimes you prefer to speak your mother tongue or your English is not so proficient, the following itinerary of French speaking guest houses has been divised.
Arriving at Cape Town airport(or similar), you will pick up your AVIS or TEMPEST rental car – we have negotiated rates with both of them - and drive straight to MORNINGSIDE COTTAGE which will host you for the next 3 days. Strategically situated south of Cape Town and 25 minutes from the airport, Morningside Cottage is a charming Cape Dutch style Cottage managed by it's Swiss owner, Ursula Edwards.

Aftera full English breakfast and within 20 minutes of Morningside Cottage, you can visit:

After three daysyou leave Cape Town and drive on the N2 direction Knysna (5 hours.) You can stop off en route at the historical town of Swellendam or the beautiful beaches of Wilderness.

Reluctantlyleaving STANNARDS after two days, you will drive to Oudtshoorn (1.5hrs) passing some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, the Outeniqua and Robinson Pass's.
Oudtshoornis the ostrich capital of the world and your host for the next two days is Pascal Chanel, owner of the LE PETIT KAROO RANCH. Situated on one of the highest hills, le Petit Karoo enjoys magnificent views of the whole valley and Swartberg mountains. You will be accommodated, depending on the season, in a luxury bush tent or a chalet but all have the same awesome views. Pascal will be very happy to cook for you or recommend fine dining.
Le Petit Karoo
Le Petit Karoois an excellent choice to explore the valley and within 20 minutes drive you can discover : the Swartberg’s pass and its dramatic canyons, the ostrich farms, the Cango Wildlife Ranch with its protected animals, the animal game reserves, and other places of this lovely town. You’ll have also the opportunity to do some horse riding, quad or mountain biking, directly on site or in the vast of the Little Karoo.
Leaving Oudtshoornyou will take the renowned Route 62 back to Cape Town (4.5hrs), passing beautiful country scenery, complete with ostriches, vineyards, historic towns and fruit farms.

About Us
Pascal Chanelis the owner manager of Le Petit Karoo. He is French and arrived in South Africa in 2003 with his family from France. He built the whole place on his own and is very proud of it. He cooks delicious French style meals and accommodate everyone with personalized attention. As a former Jockey; he is very confident on a horse and will make every rider feel secure while enjoying the scenery. A real one man show!
